Orientation: Kia Ora , Welcome to the tale of Manu , Tama & Maia .

In the wonderful land of the Ngati Porou Marae there is Manu the Fiercest Warrior Tama the peaceful
Warrior & Maia the In Between both warrior . When they were little kids they got interested in watching
there whanau do the haka . They always tried to join but they couldn’t do it properly so they were told to
go outside and play with there cuzzies . When they got outside the heard something behind whare what
will it be will it be dangerous or harmless?

When they went out the back it was Maui they all said “Maui” they ran to tell there whanau that they had
seen Maui so all of there whanau ran out the back and when they went out he was gone and the kids kept
saying “ I saw him , I saw him” but the parents didn’t believe them but Maui knew he would come back
and surprise the kids another time.Later that day it was hailing and the kids had to stay inside so they though
t of a plan of how to get outside they figured 2 of them asked the parents if they could go outside while the
others went outside.They went up to the parents and asked “can we please go outside” the parents said “No
sorry it’s raining” while they were talking the other 3 kids went outside they got pillows put them under the
blanket and pretended they were still there while they were at the back of the marae

Problem: Maui promised them to come back but when they went outside in the rain he wasn’t behind the
Marae then suddenly out of nowhere it became hot and sunny . The kids knew to go out the back to see
Maui. When they got around there Maui was sitting there waiting for them to come around and take them
into the past . He was a time traveller so he knew what to do when he got into the past . When they got into
the pass Maui took the kids to the Marae where he grew up and introduced him to all his brothers and
sisters . When they went there they were all excited to meet the people . They learnt about all the brothers
and sisters and couldn’t wait to go back to the present and tell their whanau. They were so interested in
how they lived because they had no technology and had to tell if there was rain by the sky so if was really
hard to live in those days because of the circumstances of living with not technology
