Paperboy Questions

  1. What is the conflict between Ara T and Little Man? How will it be resolved?
Ara T has little man's knife and won't give it back until little man calls him by his proper name but it is hard because he can't say Ara T because of his stutter and man tells him to stay far away from him


  1. Why do you think Little Man likes Mr Spiro so much? Mr Spiro is a nice guy and he is always there when Little Man needs help. Mr. Spiro talks to Victor like an adult instead of dumbing things down because he's a kid or has a stutter. He has long conversations with Little Man and just assumes that Victor can keep up the good work in school . Mr. Spiro also teaches Little Man that he can learn anything he wants about the world .


  1. Research what a speech pathologist does. Explain what their job is and how they help people . They study, diagnose and treat communication disorders, including difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading, writing, social skills, stuttering and using voice


  1. Who is Mam? What is her role in the family? Mam is like a social worker to Little Man she helps him with his speech and his stutter. She is always there for him when he needs it and she helps with his type writing to say what he is feeling without stuttering and she is also like a mum to him more than a baby sitter.


  1. What do you notice about the way that dialogue is written within Paperboy? Why do you think the author chose to write this way?   To give you the perspective of little man’s life and they way how he stutters . The dialogue can sometimes be sad and sometimes be happy . The way I think it is written is that little manś trying to express himself in a way without stuttering but he just cant do it


  1. Pick one character from your organizer that you have been working on. Explain them in full, giving as much detail as we know about them from Chapters 1-6 .   Little Man is a young kid that has an issue with a stutter . Little Man plays softball and he has the best fastball in town and he also hurt rat with the fastball . He has easy to read words on his mitt so he can communicate on the pitch with his team.

    Good on you for posting your reading questions to your blog and having them formatted correctly. You had some very insightful responses. I think you really understand the relationship between Mr Spiro and Little Man.

    I wonder if there are some more points that you can add to question 6 where you are describing Little Man. I think we know a lot more about him at this point in the story.
