The colour pallet in the office is made up of blues and greys. This creates and atmosphere of boringness, mystery and gloomy This is combined with the use of a cold light not warm from the window. The director has used this pallet because in this moment Caroline feels sad and ignored by her father who is too busy to spend time with her.
Her Dads room is very bright and delightful. It bring happiness that Coraline's dad actually pays attention to her while making a song for Coraline on the piano. His room and the kitchen are very bright and it has alot of yellow. The kitchen is very bright so Coraline changes her mind about staying and getting her eyes sewn.
